Happy Closet Remix Challenge day 8!

So it looks like I won't have my computer for the next week or two, so please excuse any late posts / poorly editted ones. I'm doing what I can with what I have. I will be posting, though, so I hope you enjoy it! I can guarantee this will probably be my last #CRC post for this challenge... it was fun while I did it!

Happy Closet Remix Challenge day 7!

Okay, listen, I kind of cheated on today's challenge outfit. It's 20 degrees here and I have absolutely nothing that is equipped for those kinds of temperatures! So, naturally, I raided my mom's closet. Good thing she had this baby. Warm, functional, stylish... it's the whole package. Thanks mom! Also, don't tell the closet remix challenge police. I promise I won't do it ever again for the rest of the 30 days.

On the other hand, you know how it was 60 degrees yesterday? Yeah, well, it snowed today. Isn't nature awesome? Just as you're about to enjoy the warm weather, snow just dumps on your head. Cool. Awesome. Thanks Mother Nature. I'm running out of snow clothes, though, do you mind warming it up? Much appreciated xo

Happy Closet Remix Challenge day 6!

It was 60+ degrees here. Can you imagine?! Just the other day it was snowing! It's amazing how great warm weather is. Nature is straight up weird.

I had to visit some office buildings after school today, so I wanted to wear something cute.. something that screamed that I could totally rock it in a cubicle. Not that I'd want to. But I totally could.

I've been trying even harder to incorporate the stuff at the back of my closet so that I don't have to throw it away, but I'm definitely failing. All of these pieces are things I wear at least once a month. So there's that. But at least it's still cute.

Do you often incorporate clothes you've been hoarding, or do you just let them chill in the back of your closet?

Happy Closet Remix Challenge day 3!

Okay, I'm in love with this hat. Sorry. I am finding any excuse I can to wear it. My head's cold? Wearing it. It matches my outfit at all? Wearing it. I'm bored? Wearing it.

I've been so busy lately, so the fact that I go to show you three outfits in a row is just A+ behavior for me! I'm sorry I've been repeating clothes (I know, I know, the closet remix challenge is about using different things), but it's been limited selection wardrobe wise because I'm not used to it being so cold where I live. I'm starting to warm up to it, though, so hopefully I'll start wearing more diverse things that are really my style; otherwise, it looks like I'm stuck in sweaters, bean boots, and, obviously, my JCrew cap.

What's your go-to outfit when it's freezing cold?

bundle up

With temperatures in the low twenties, teens, and even below zero sweeping the nation, it's important to wear super warm clothing in order to keep at a normal temperature and stay safe. But who's to say you can't do it in style? The first look I paired is very simple, but with a lot of elements that make it exciting. While the sweater is a neutral, the necklace piece adds a bit of sparkle. The leather finish of the pants do the same to boring black pants. The chambray shirt beneath the sweater and low black boots make the outfit polished. Finally, the military green jacket (that is so in right now!) has a furry hood for extra warmth and comfort. While this outfit is a bit dark, I kind of adore it. A simple black sweater dress or tunic with a nice, dark colored plaid layered beneath it keeps your torso warm. With a pair of fleece lined leggings (they're real, and beautiful) your body will be cozy all day. A nice set of pearls will add the bit of sparkle to make the outfit shine, and some high boots, heeled or not, ensure maximum foot warmth. The last look is absolutely my favorite. If you haven't noticed a trend yet, I tend to favor neutrals during the winter months. When putting this one together, I wanted it to consist of pieces I could grab with twenty minutes to go and still be cute and warm. Start with a nice pair of dark jeans and a neutral sweater, top with a nice, flow-y cardigan-y sweater, and add a nice dark scarf for a pop of winter color. Finally, a pair of short brown boots with some sparkly hardware makes the outfit beyond average.

With the chilling temperatures, being warm and safe is of utmost importance. Being stylish, though? Always an option.

How do you like to bundle up in style in the cold winter months?

As much as it looks like it, I promise that it took me more than five minutes to put this outfit together. In fact, I've actually been planning to wear this outfit for... ever, basically. Unfortunately, I never had a scarf like this or the right kind of boots. But guess what? I got them! And I finally got to wear this outfit! It makes me so, so happy.

Anyway, today was a weird day for me. Lots of stress, lots of work, lots of coffee. I eventually go through, however, and I've only got four more days of school left to go before winter break. I've just gotta hang in there. I can't do it! ...I hope.

What outfit have you been meaning to try as soon as you get all the pieces? Ciao!

sneakers on steroids

{ one | two-Unavailable | three }

Fashion trends come and go, but one that I've seen in the front and center for a lot longer than I expected is sneaker wedges. I don't know if they're something I could ever pull off, but for some reason, I really want to try. I've seen a ton of bloggers trying them out and styling them perfectly, but I feel like if they landed in my hands, they'd just become dirty, gross lazy day shoes. Honestly, that's what I think of when I think sneakers: lazy day shoes that you throw on with a pair of jeans, a white t-shirt, and you're good to go. Hm, maybe wedge sneakers don't sound to bad after all. They are super comfortable on top of being an easy go to. I'm slowly being persuaded now!

What about you? What do you think of wedge sneakers? Will you be trying out this trend or passing?
